Where we are :

Howland's Honey farm is located in the pristine Parkland area of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. This is an area of abundant crops of clover, alfalfa, canola and borage, all producing excellent mild white honey.

Saskatchewan has an area similar to Texas, but boasts a population of less than one million. Half of the population lives in two cities, which means a lot of rural room for bees to forage in. Our area is about 200 miles north of the U.S. border, and just above the state of North Dakota.

The light sandy soil of our particular region, supports the growing of vast hay crops of clover and alfalfa, arguably the most sought after honey crops in North America. A new crop being grown in our area is borage. Borage, a specialty crop, produces a white honey with an extra mild flavour and is favoured by those who like their honey less sweet.
